In 2002 Rick Magley, as principal and project leader for HHI Design was commissioned to master plan a peninsula for a prominent architectural firm doing work in Doha, Qatar and the Mussafah Mainland. Expatriates had become uneasy and felt they needed more of the comforts of home and a safer environment. This concept provided a Target size retail outlet, club facilities, daycare, single family housing and boutique hotel with an emphasis on separating residents from guests, while not excluding guests from using the common facilities.
